Every morning at 9:27AM another post is published. If you are not subscribed, be sure to! Jesus is coming and we want to help the Elect to be prepared for this day and the time of trouble that the LORD Jesus warned us of. Every post we make is founded on Biblical Scripture and you are welcome to challenge everything we post. We are not masters of the Faith but are slaves of it. We could get some things wrong, we are humble enough to admit that. However, the prophecies are clear. We are at the end of the Last Day!

What Does God Say About Tattoos?

"Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord."
Leviticus 19:28 (KJV)

The Converts Experience

Like so many other things that may be apart of your sinful past, tattoos may be a reminder of our weakness in sin. You may have come from apostate christianity where they state it is OK to get tattoos, because these commands are for Jew's; not Christians. Yet, as we see in the Bible there is no such thing as a "holy tattoo" because God's command is clear.

When I Look At My Tattoos

When I look at my tattoos it is like looking back on my path through life. I've committed many sins, these tattoos are just some of them. Then I think of the glorified body mentioned in the Bible that awaits for me in Heaven that has no tattoos. No darkness to hold me back or bring me down. The creation story is very unique, God made the body first then He breathed the breath of life into it. I think of my glorified body, pure, no tattoos and no defects at all. The Bible mentions that it is an incorruptible body, an immortal body.

This is the only verse in the Bible that explicitly mentions markings or tattoos. Let's break it down:

🧾 The Context

  • The Israelites were commanded to separate themselves from pagan nations yet, the same applies to you.

  • Pagans commonly cut their skin or tattooed symbols of the dead as part of mourning rituals or idol worship and we still see this today.

  • God was calling His people to holiness — to be different, so why do so many "christians" look like everyone else?

✋ The Command

  • No cuttings in the flesh: The scars from the cuts were used to create marks upon the skin, they did this by cutting or burning the flesh to create scars.

  • No marks upon you: So we are not even to put any marks at all on our bodies, no not even those temporary tattoos.

The Principle Today

While we live under the New Covenant, the moral principles of holiness and separation from the world remain. The command is still the command from God. Quit listening to the false prophets, false teachers, preachers, churches that say you do not have to listen to God's commands. Anyone that tells you that you do not have to listen and apply God's commands in your life is either apostate or do not understand the Bible.

  • The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

🔥 Final Thought

In the end, it’s not just about the ink — it’s about the heart. Are you submitting to God’s call to be holy, or conforming to the world’s patterns?

"Be ye holy; for I am holy." — 1 Peter 1:16

Yes, be as Holy as you can so that when Jesus Returns He may find faith upon the earth. How can you be Holy? Practice God's commands in your life! Here is a head start PDF that has God's commands.
