Prophecy is a puzzle that we can get wrong over and over again. It consists of several different things but you should always try to figure out if it fits or not. There are also different features in prophecy, like they cannot be understood until all the circumstances are right for them to be understood. Let's dive into this subject.
Prophecy Basics
OK when we first look at prophecy basics, what is it we see? Puzzle pieces. For example we are given images of beasts in the book of Daniel and Revelation. Those are puzzle pieces and we need to understand where they fit in a timeline. Keep asking, who, what, where, when, why and how. Within each of those beasts we are given imagery; those too are puzzles to solve, the meaning of a horn, a crown and so forth.
Sealed Prophecy
OK now this is a great one, sealed prophecy, what does that mean, right? Well, it means that no one is going to be able to understand the full context until a certain point on the timeline. So think of airplanes, telephones, internet, and AI where were they two thousand years or even three thousand years ago? So the angel would not tell Daniel what they were, but he told him what to look for so that people in future generations would know what it means. Here is a small sample.
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4
The Light Bulb Turns On
So now, Daniel looking at that in 539 BCE is like, hmm, I wonder what this is suppose to mean? However, we know exactly what that means don't we? People are running all over the world, planes, Jets, Ships, Cars, Motorcycles, Bicycles. Then as far as knowledge being increased there is no doubt. Think of Daniels time, they had scribes, and their job was to sit there all day and copy story after story to preserve records. They did not even have a printing press, however, we today have the internet, books all over the places. Knowledge is at your fingertips. So there is no doubt as to what the angel is referring too here.
Crack The Code
Everyone is trying to crack the code, right? Why? Because the information is so valuable and accurate. The decoding process is absolutely astonishing. Some are drove crazy and make outlandish explanations as to what certain things in prophecy means. Then if you do not believe their explanation they call you a heretic, lol. So, trying to crack the code of prophecy is a good thing but we must do it in humility. We will get it wrong, yes even if we are righteous people. There is something better than knowledge and understanding, that is the love of God. Notice what Yeshua told His apostles.
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. John 16:12
Yeshua's Answer Reveals
Just look at that answer. It is amazing and lets us know that even the chosen will not be able to understand some things at certain times. We see here the importance of the timeline and only certain things can be explained at certain times.
Our Attitude
You know them people that think they are right all the time? Yeah, don't be like them. You and I are going to screw up prophecy, that is a fact Jack. We will screw up what something represents, confuse a timeline...; Have you ever been lost? I am sure you have. It can be frustrating or you can use it as a learning experience. Laugh at yourself for going the wrong way and then get back on the right track. If you have something to present, present it with humility to the Elect. Use words like, could this mean this? It appears that it might mean this. This can keep you from being labeled a false prophet like I have been labeled in the past. It does not matter people will like to call you names if you have some ideas, if you are afraid of that then you might want to keep it to yourself, lol.
The Humour Of God
I cannot be sure, but I would have to assume that #God has a great sense of #humour. I think when He called James and John "The Son's of Thunder" that was supposed to be laughed at. I can think of a lot of times throughout the Bible when God had these personal relationships with men like Moses, Elijah and more; there must of been a lot of humour. Now, think of us, being bewildered, trying to put the puzzle pieces of prophecy together. Do you not think that God is getting joy out of watching us trying to figure it out? I would imagine that the only ones God is NOT enjoying, are the ones that put it down, walk away from it and don't think it is worth their time to investigate it. Yeah, I think that is the sin here.
Advanced Prophecy
I like to categorize prophecy into 2 categories; (basic or foundational) , (intermediate) and (advanced). So, to give you an example of a basic #prophecy, Yeshua will return; yes, this is basic and foundational. Intermediate prophecy are those with explanations like the beasts in the book of Daniel, we know who they are because he tells us. Now, advanced prophecy is like the beast in Revelation 13 who I might add are a mixture of all the beasts in the book of Daniel.
Prophecy Help
OK, now with all the #prophecies in the Bible you may be wondering if there is anything that you can do to understand them better. Maybe give you a better chance at cracking the code. The answer is yes. What is the foundation of the Bible for us humans? The Commands of God, if you follow the commands of God then prophecy will be easier for you to decode. The mysteries of God are locked up within His commands. Let me give you a simple example.
Prophecy Example And Gods Commands
We are told throughout the Bible to observe the #Sabbath, it in fact, is the 4th of the 10 main commandments. Now, lets focus here, don't let me lose you because this is important. Timing is everything here, but ask yourself the questions, "Who, What, Where, When, Why, How". Let's decipher.
- Who? = YOU!
- What? = The Sabbath
- When? = The 7th day, Friday sundown Saturday Sundown
- Why? = To understand Sabbath prophecy
- How? = Rest from all work
Now we know that 1 day to God is 1 thousand years to man. (2 Peter 3:8). We also know that Yeshua called Himself, LORD of the Sabbath. (Matthew 12:8, Mark 2:28, and Luke 6:5). Now you have the pieces, let's put them together.
- Who? = Yeshua
- What? = LORD of Sabbath
- When? = 7,000th year of man
- Why? = To restore God's Kingdom
- How? = Destroy everything evil and wicked.
Now, how would you understand that if you thought the Sabbath was on Sunday? You just would not understand it. But, by observing the commands of God in the Torah, you understand it. This was common knowledge to the early Christians who were Jew's that observed the Torah. They knew that the 7th day was God's Sabbath and it was the last day of the week.
Easier To Understand
OK, now you see how observing the #Torah or #Laws of God make it easier for you to understand prophecy. It is embedded within the #Commands. Maybe you can understand better why Yeshua said this.
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:17-19
