Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. Matthew 5:17
Many Christians when reading this simply ignore it. They claim that the context of it changes especially when reading other parts of the Bible like to book of Acts when the Apostles were discussing circumcision. So many times you will see and hear people trusting in their own understanding than the WORD of God.
The LORD Meant What He Said
The LORD meant what He said, He did not come to destroy the Law but to fulfill it! Many people read that line and think that since Christ fulfilled the Law they no longer have to abide by it. They are deceiving themselves. Since when does fulfill ever mean "end"? It simply doesn't.
What Fulfill Means
Fulfill does mean to bring to completion or reality; achieve or realize (something desired, promised, or predicted). Yet, it certainly does not mean end.
Diving Deeper
For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass
from the law till all is fulfilled. Matthew 5:18
Has Heaven and Earth passed away yet? The answer is obvious. Has the Law been fulfilled? Yes, in Christ Jesus. Yet, notice what He says next.
Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and
teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he
shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:19
Even though Christ was the fulfillment of the Law and indeed He knew He was, He tells us to teach it and keep it! This reveals to us 4 things.
- The WILL of God
- What the Commandments of God are.
- The Torah is related to the Kingdom of Heaven hence "Christianity"!
- To obey and do the Commandments of God is the WILL of God!
Hatred of The Jews
From the time Christianity was legalized by Constantine in Rome, hatred of the Jews become more rampant. Although Christ said they should be forgiven, Rome integrated Christianity into their pagan religion. The Jews killed Christ, so that gave them even more reason to hate the Jews. So the propaganda and hatred of the Jews spread. This however backfired! Yes, it backfired so much that since that time, "Christians" were taught that they did not need to heed God's Commandments that was recorded by Moses and handed down through the Jews. Did they forget that Jesus and all the Apostles were Jews?
Deception
Are you a victim of this deception? Yes, everytime you read all the Commandments of God given to Moses, you thought to yourself, "This does not apply to me because it is Jewish". Well my friend, I hope that you can read the words of Christ here with an open heart and an open mind and realize that they do indeed apply to you, from the least of the commandments to the greatest of the commandments.
Perfecting the Law
Christ perfected the Law, in fact He re-emphasized its importance and relevance. He said things like,
21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Matthew 5:21,22
Yes, more than do not kill, but do not even be angry with your brother without a cause. Yes, instead of abolishing the Law He is Re-Emphasizing it! How much more so should Christians abide by this Law since our very name means, "Those Who Follow Christ" = "Christians"!
How To Do It
Yes, Yeshua took it a step further. He revealed that everything starts in the heart and mind. This is where sin takes hold like "killing" someone. So, one should consider their anger, their hatred & lust before you let that fester and you have sinned already! Jesus is telling you to stop it where you have more control over it, in your heart and mind. This is where God has given you true power!
Control of Christianity
No wonder why the deception was so important to Satan! He had to get the Christians to hate the Jews. So in order to take power and control, Satan "legalized" Christianity. This put the balance of power more in his court where he could work his manipulation and teach people they no longer had to keep the Laws of God. However, even the early Apostles prophesied about this and let us know that the man of lawlessness would appear, the antichrist, the falling away.
What Satan Knows
Satan the devil knows he will never beat God.He can only use cunning tricks and manipulation in order to distort the Will of God. It was a master plan, instead of fighting Christians, indeed a battle he was losing, he would legalize them and take control! Once this is accomplished the apostasy begins. We indeed have the privilege of hindsight, so read this prophecy that God gave the Apostle Paul while writing to the Thessalonians. Keep in mind this was written before Christianity was legalized and remember that we are the Temple of God!
The Man of Lawlessness Revealed
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thess 2:3-14
Notice verse 7 "the mystery of iniquity", this is the mystery of Lawlessness, what is Lawlessness? People who do not keep the commandments of God! Yes, for this cause, God shall send them strong delusions so that they should believe the lie!
The Mystery of Iniquity
You now have no excuse, you can read the Commandments of God ON YOUR OWN. You now know what happened! Satan is in the Church! This is why those churches think they do not have to abide by the Laws of God! It is not for them because their god satan says they do not have to follow them. Do you understand? We are revealing to you the man of inequity! "Legalized Christianity"!!!
