Every morning at 9:27AM another post is published. If you are not subscribed, be sure to! Jesus is coming and we want to help the Elect to be prepared for this day and the time of trouble that the LORD Jesus warned us of. Every post we make is founded on Biblical Scripture and you are welcome to challenge everything we post. We are not masters of the Faith but are slaves of it. We could get some things wrong, we are humble enough to admit that. However, the prophecies are clear. We are at the end of the Last Day!

From the beginning, God set apart His people—not just by their worship, but also by what they eat. The Bible clearly outlines which animals are considered clean and unclean for food. These dietary instructions are not just "Old Testament law" but eternal principles of holiness and obedience.

📜 Where Are These Commands Found?

The primary passages include:

  • Leviticus 11

  • Deuteronomy 14

These chapters define what animals, fish, birds, and insects are fit for human consumption—and which are not.

✅ Clean Animals

These may be eaten:

  • Land animals with split hooves and that chew the cud
    🐄 Cow, 🐑 Sheep, 🐐 Goat, 🦌 Deer

  • Seafood with fins and scales
    🐟 Trout, 🐠 Salmon, 🐡 Cod

  • Birds that are not predators or scavengers
    🕊️ Dove, 🐓 Chicken, 🦃 Turkey

  • Certain insects
🦗 Locusts, crickets, and grasshoppers (Lev. 11:22)

❌ Unclean Animals

These must not be eaten:

  • Pigs 🐖 (do not chew cud though they have split hooves)

  • Shellfish 🦞🦐 (no fins or scales—e.g., shrimp, crab, lobster)

  • Predatory birds 🦅 (eagles, vultures, hawks)

  • Rodents and reptiles 🐍🐀🦎

  • Catfish (no scales), sharks, and eels

  • Camel, rabbit, and horse

“They are unclean to you… you shall not eat of their flesh nor touch their carcasses.” — Leviticus 11:8

🧠 Why Did God Give These Commands?

  • Holiness: “Be holy, for I am holy” (Lev. 11:44)

  • Health: Whether this was or was not a health reason does not matter, many men try to reason that something is good or not good for the health. Let me tell you the best thing you can do for your everlasting heath is obey God's commands.

  • Obedience: God's commands test our willingness to submit—even when we don't understand all the reasons.

💬 Did Jesus Abolish These Laws?

No. Jesus never declared all foods clean. That teaching came from misinterpretations of Mark 7 and Acts 10. In Acts 10, Peter’s vision was about Gentiles being accepted, not about changing the food laws (Acts 10:28 confirms this).

“For I am the LORD, I change not.” — Malachi 3:6

🛑 Modern Misunderstandings

Many modern Christians wrongly believe these laws are no longer relevant. But Yeshua (Jesus) said:

“Think not that I am come to destroy the Law… till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law…” — Matthew 5:17-18

Heaven and earth are still here—so are God’s dietary commands.

📣 Call to Action

It’s time to return to God’s ways—not man’s traditions. If God says something is unclean, why argue with Him?

Let’s honor God with what we put into our bodies.

Preparing Clean Animals According to God’s Instructions

It’s not enough to just eat clean animals—God also gave clear instructions on how they are to be slaughtered and prepared. This was part of the covenant of holiness and separation for His people.

1️⃣ The Blood Must Be Drained

“But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.” — Genesis 9:4

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood… it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.” — Leviticus 17:11

  • Blood represents life and atonement.

  • God forbids eating or drinking blood  (Acts 15:20).

  • Proper butchering includes slitting the throat and allowing the blood to fully drain.

2️⃣ Do Not Eat Fat from Certain Offerings

“Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Ye shall eat no manner of fat, of ox, or of sheep, or of goat.” — Leviticus 7:23

  • Certain fats (specifically suet or organ fat) were reserved for sacrificial offerings.

  • Consuming this fat was forbidden—it was considered holy to YHWH.

  • Not all fat is forbidden (e.g., marbling in muscle), but specific kidney, liver, and abdominal fats were.

3️⃣ No Eating of Animals That Died on Their Own

“Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself…” — Deuteronomy 14:21

  • Animals that died naturally or were torn by beasts are unclean, even if the animal itself is on the “clean” list.

  • Proper slaughter (shechita) by human hands is required.

4️⃣ Cook Meat Thoroughly

While Scripture does not give a precise cooking temperature, the following is clear:

  • Raw meat and blood were associated with paganism and forbidden practice.

  • In 1 Samuel 14, Saul’s army sinned by eating meat with blood in their hunger (v. 32-34), and it had to be corrected immediately.

🧼 Spiritual Significance

These preparation commands do more than promote physical health—they train God’s people in:

  • Discipline over appetite

  • Respect for life and creation

  • Holiness in daily living

🙅 Today’s Practices vs. God’s Ways

Much of the meat in supermarkets—even if it’s “beef” or “chicken”—has not been properly drained of blood and fat. Industrial slaughter methods do not honor God’s instructions.

If you’re serious about Torah obedience, consider:

  • Buying from a Biblically mindful butcher

  • Learning to process meat yourself

  • Ensuring the animal was slaughtered in accordance with God's law

If Someone Disagrees

If someone disagrees with this then certainly they do not know the commands of God or they just do not care and put more stock in man's wisdom and traditions. Or they like so many are just blinded. Here is what Yeshua has to say to those people.

He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This  people honoureth me with [their] lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, [as] the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. Mark 7:6-9
