For the past 5 plus decades of my life one of the things that perplexes me most, is the humility of God. How can it be matched, how can it be imitated? Understanding it would be the key to unlocking it's power I suppose. It calls to mind 2 key events, the Garden and the LORD's Evening Meal. Let me explain.
The Garden
So, imagine yourself creating a lovely home. You have children and then grandchildren, great grandchildren and so on. One day, one of your children get jealous of you and tries to turn the rest of your children against you. They wreck your happy home. Although you have all the authority to evict the troublemaker, you let them stay. You let them reveal who they really are. You are patient and humble and know the truth of the matter will reveal itself in time. As your other children gaze and suffer at the hands of the troublemaker, they plead with you to take action. You promise to do so but not until all your grandchildren are gathered.
The LORD's Evening Meal
Diving even deeper into this subject, the LORD's Evening Meal was astonishing. Everyone knows of the bread and wine, however, there is one more thing that people overlook everytime they observe this meal. It is the most important part. It is also apparent that apostate christianity has no use for this most important part of the Meal. Have you guessed it? Yes, it is washing the feet of one another! Imagine the LORD and GOD of the universe washing your feet! In order for anyone to partake of the bread and wine, washing the feet of your brothers comes first!
Examining The Evidence
When we examine these 2 stories we begin to get the picture of GOD's Humility. A perfect humility! Is He telling us that ministering to our brothers and sisters is more important than consuming; and presumptuously concluding that our own salvation is more important than that of our brothers? It appears so! Time and again the warning is to Love one another.
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8
Love and Humility
Love and humility go hand in hand , don't they? What is one without the other? Indeed perfect love is filled with humility, we can not image ego or pride being a part of this equation. John goes onto state that if we love not our brother whom we have seen, you love not GOD whom you have NOT seen. In fact John states and I paraphrase here, if you say you love God but not your brother, You are a liar and the truth is not in you! (1 John 4:20).
Breaking it Down
To understand #humility is to understand the mystery of God, no? Therefore we can expect all His commands to fall in line with Love and Humility. By following them our light is made more perfect. Think of it, only an egotistical, prideful person will disrespect the commands of God. DO NOT you be like them! The pride of this world is foolish to God because He knows how things work. Any other teaching is like a fad that the weak follow for a while and then it is yesterdays news. The commands of God abide forever!
Be Different
God is calling us to be different. You see the world around you, you know it is messed up! Instead of searching for the next big thing that comes down the shitter of mankind, why not consider rejecting that. Why not consider making positive changes in your life to follow the commands of God and our LORD Jesus Christ. You can start today, here is a head start document that you can read and start applying the commands of God in your life. The password is "i will obey" all lowercase and include the spaces.
